A Spring in Your Step

physiotherapyThe new year is off to a great start here at the Physio Studio in Donnybrook. We are now up and running with a number of Pilates and Yoga classes as well as our state-of-the-art physiotherapy clinic.

The studio is buzzing with new people coming to join Pilates courses or to take up Yoga. To make sure there is plenty of choice, we are running Pilates classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Yoga is currently offered on Wednesday and Friday and we are planning a Saturday class for those who want to relax and unwind mind and body over the weekend.

Watch out for more news soon on upcoming mother and baby Yoga classes.

If you have made a new year’s resolution to take some time for your health and you are now feeling a little deflated, here are some tips that we have found helpful:

  1. Take up or rediscover a form of exercise that you enjoy;
  2. Working out with a friend can be more fun;
  3. In winter time, it may be best to find a form of indoors exercise such as Yoga or Pilates;
  4. Make your exercise regime a happy part of your day by ending with a nice smoothie or coffee and a chat with friends.

Above all keep moving! The practice of Pilates and Yoga can help you with the pursuit of other, more rigorous sports such as running, golf, tennis, or team sports such as Gaelic games, soccer or rugby. At this time of year, they can also help you to strengthen muscles for an annual ski trip, or as winter prep for a summer goal of running a half marathon.

Finally, for those who have taken to their new health regime with such gusto that they are now stiff and sore, the Physio Studio offers the most up-to-date and specialized sports injury assessment and rehabilitation programmes with chartered physiotherapist, Gerry Keenan.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
