After taking a career break when my children were young, I returned to university and completed a post graduate degree in psychology in University College Dublin. To deepen my understanding of clinical psychology, I pursued a Masters in Psychological Science in UCD, with particular emphasis on counselling and clinical skills; psychological interventions; psychometric testing and research. My focus during my studies was on the treatment of depression and anxiety, particularly, in the perinatal and postnatal period.
I now provide a dedicated Psychology and Counselling Service based in Donnybrook, Dublin 4. I offer assessments and evidence-based psychological therapy for individuals. My main therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also use Narrative Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness techniques in my work.
I run a Specialist Perinatal Service for pregnant women and women in the postnatal period. I am able to help with postnatal depression and anxiety, antenatal depression and anxiety, birth trauma and difficulties adjusting to parenthood.
I am passionate about my work and I am approachable, supportive and compassionate. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment in which to explore clients’ current difficulties.
